"Giving you confidence and knowledge about what works for you!"
Ted McKnight - Certified Teaching Professional
Ted has been involved in sports his entire life; either playing or coaching. However he didn't started golfing until the age 27. He is self taught with the aid of books and videos, as well as being on the course playing and practicing. He considers himself to be a golfaholic. If not golfing, he continually hones his skill by reading and learning about the golf swing and keeping up on latest equipment trends. Ted's passion for golf lead him to become a custom golf club builder which he has been doing since 1996. In 2009, Ted became a certified golf teaching professional and a member of the CGTF (Canadian Golf Teaching Federation) and the USGTF (United States Golf Teaching Federation).
With the addition of the Wellington on the Lake Golf Course to Prince Edward County in 2001, Ted has seen the interest and enthusiasm in golf grow tremendously. In 2010, Ted joined Wellington on the Lake Golf Course as the course's Certified Teaching Professional. We are thrilled to have Ted as our golf teaching professional - he is establishing his reputation as an instructor with unlimited patience, an ability to explain the golf mechanics in terms that his students can understand and a willingness to personalize instruction. Most importantly, his students have fun and improve their game!
Ted's Teaching Philosophy
"My goal as a Teaching Professional is to help my students create a swing that is simple and repeatable. During the course of a lesson, we will work to discover how you learn best since everyone learns differently. My objective is to help you play your best. Self correction is the key to being a more consistent golfer. I cannot always be with you while you practice and play, so I will give you the tools you need to correct your own swing. Through feeling your swing, and seeing and understanding ball flight, you will become more confident and knowledgeable about what works for you on the course and at the range. Ultimately my goal is to help all golfers to not only improve their game but to enjoy every round they play."
Ted's dream is to grow his knowledge and expertise into a full time career.
